WildSide Online Inc.’s 35TH Annual Memorial Day Classic at Weston

was created by Split Second Timing Inc. as a free community run in 1989, celebrating the “new” Town of Weston and was an event for all residents of the this new community to take part in and get to know each other. Twenty-Five years later, the Memorial Day Classic at Weston has transformed into a small community gathering to one of the largest road racing events in South Florida. The run has become a tradition for Weston based families and there are even families who have been participating all 25 years who are not all together in Weston anymore! Memorial Day is traditionally known as a day to honor and memorialize our fallen soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us to stand free in the United States of America. It is also a day for families to be together and cherish the times that they are together. The Memorial Day Classic at Weston embraces bringing the community together and encourages each and every resident to come out and meet their fellow residents.

This Memorial Day come out and bring your family to the City of Weston’s OLDEST community event. The Memorial Day Classic at Weston 5K Run and Walk is to pay homage to our men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have sacrificed their lives for our great nation. New this year will be The BB3 Timed SOLDIERS FINAL MILE. The Soldiers Final Mile is to pay tribute to all the fallen heros that gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. When you are running the 5k and you get to the final mile (2.1 mile mark on the course) think of all the soldiers who lost their lives in battle and that is where you need to leave everything on the course. We will be scoring the Soldiers Final Mile by overall and age groups so please take it seriously!
